Training

Fortis, on behalf of PICAC offers a range of training options designed to meet the needs of organisations in the Aged Care industry, with a focus on supporting CaLD stakeholders, be they staff, residents or the broader community.

Fortis collaborates with peak groups to co-deliver training which includes:

  • Introduction to Culture, Communication and Relationships at Work – Fortis award winning work
  • Cultural Humility in Palliative Care – partnering with Cancer Council WA
  • Culture and Dementia – partnering with Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service (DBMAS)
  • Culture and Continence – partnering with Continence Advisory Service WA
  • Fortis continues to develop content in consultation with organisations who have identified a specific need. The following courses will be available in 2017:
    • Working with Interpreters: The CaLD perspective
    • Culture and Elder Abuse
    • Managing Conflict with families and carers of CaLD clients in Aged Care services
