Fortis Consulting is funded by the Australian Government (Department of Health) as the WA Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) to improve the capacity of aged care services to respond to the differing needs of older people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) communities.  Currently, Fortis PICAC WA is collaborating with the Federation of Ethnic Communities Council of Australia (FECCA) so WA CaLD voices can be heard by the Australian Government to inform the Aged Care Diversity Framework. Please click here to read the background paper.

Australia is currently home to one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse populations on earth, with many members of this CaLD community requiring access to Aged Care Services. Consequently, the CaLD community’s care needs and preferences are important to understand. If you could please circulate this information that would be greatly appreciated.

Fortis PICAC WA in collaboration with FECCA will be conducting a consultation session on November 6th 2017.

We will also provide information about how CaLD seniors can currently access information to make good decisions about their care needs. CaLD care recipients or their family carers are invited to attend the following:
