Fortis Supports City of Belmont Inaugural Multicultural Action Plan 2016-2018

The City of Belmont launched their Inaugural Multicultural Action Plan 2016-2018 in style at a high-class event at the City of Belmont Council building.

The Lord Mayor was present to show his support for the plan along with a number of key influencers included in the plan design, content and delivery.

Fortis Consulting were invited to join the event following our contribution in developing the plan Multicultural Action Plan alongside The City of Belmont. We were delighted to attend the event and felt the buzz of success and achievement throughout the packed room.

Each attendee was provided with a copy of the Multicultural Action Plan and it is very impressive.

From the very front page you can feel the vibe of multiculturalism! The design, colour, pictures and articles used throughout really emphasise the importance of diversity within the community.

As well as the vision and priority areas that the Multicultural Action Plan will focus on throughout the next 2 years it also explains in detail about how the plan was developed, what activities took place, the many people engaged throughout the process and the achievements that have and will be seen as a result.

The City of Belmont have committed to addressing 5 priority areas within the Community and these are:

  • Communicating & Participating
  • Building Resilient Families
  • Building Capacity & Opportunities
  • Recognise, Celebrate & Respond
  • Tracking Progress & Reporting

These priority areas are explored throughout the plan in detail and include the key goals, timelines and strategies in place that will ensure success for The City of Belmont.

Finally, the plan talks about the Redcliffe Park Wall constructed as part of the Gateway WA Project. The 6-metre high wall has a mural artwork piece that reflects the celebration of community and is definitely worth a look!
