On 16 September 2018, the Prime Minister announced a Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety focusing on a broad range of matters including clinical standards, mental health and nutrition. The Royal Commission will explore “governance arrangements and management support systems” relevant to safety and quality in aged care. As part of this, the Royal Commission will enquire inquire into all forms of abuse and any underlying systemic failures.

Fortis Consulting as the state representative for the Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC WA) program invites you to attend the PICAC WA Royal Commission Forum being held on January 23rd 2019 from 7.30am until 10AM at Ground Floor, 12 St Georges Tce, Perth WA 6000. A continental breakfast will be available on arrival. Alternatively regional participants are also able to attend via video conference link up.

This is set to be a great event with knowledgeable experts across disability, aged care and legal sectors providing overviews and information on topics such as:

• Royal Commission experience relating to Residential Care for CALD specialist organisation
• Legal insights for into responding to the Royal Commission
• CALD perspectives on the Royal Commission
