Fortis consultants supported the review and development of improved processes and policies within the context of a significant Wesfarmers minesite.

From its origins in 1914 as a Western Australian farmers’ cooperative, Wesfarmers has grown into one of Australia’s largest listed companies and employers. Its diverse business operations cover: supermarkets, department stores, home improvement and office supplies; coal mining; insurance; chemicals, energy and fertilisers; and industrial and safety products.

This included moving documents to online and redesigning approvals to make processes more efficient with appropriate sign-offs. Significant attention was devoted to change management and building staff buy-in to the new processes and policies. The minesite saw significant productivity improvement following the review and process redesign.

Sustainable Solution:

The new processes and templates used have formed the basis of process improvements across other areas of both the minesite and other energy related assets for Wesfarmers.
